The Argentine Network of Forestry Science and Technology (REDFOR.ar) is a joint initiative of institutions related to Forestry Sciences, made up of teachers, researchers and institutions related to forestry education, science and technology.

The initiative to create this NETWORK arises from the fact that forests are becoming increasingly important in economic, social and environmental terms, both in Argentina and in the rest of the world. With this perspective, REDFOR.ar aims to contribute to professional training, research and transfer policies on issues related to the conservation and sustainable management of forests and forest lands, the welfare of the people who depend on them, the achievement of other sustainable development objectives and forest-industrial development.

Its mission is to articulate and strengthen the scientific-technical capacities existing in Argentina to enhance and promote sustainable forestry development, while its objective is to coordinate actions for the generation and transfer of scientific-technical knowledge related to the forestry sector.

It brings together the main educational and forestry research institutions in Argentina with the function of facilitating collaboration in forestry science and technology among all its member organizations and with those that, without doing so, are part of the decision making and management of the Argentine forestry sector.
