Areas of work
RELAFOR has a working structure designed to address the challenges and opportunities of forestry education in Latin America in a comprehensive manner. Each area fulfils a strategic role that contributes to strengthening our network and developing concrete actions on the ground:
Communications Area
This department manages internal and external communication channels, develops promotional materials, coordinates campaigns and raises the profile of our activities, achievements and partnerships. It is also responsible for crafting a coherent institutional narrative that reflects our identity and values, producing accessible, high-quality content for a range of audiences, from students to decision-makers.
Events Management Area
This unit plans, organises and runs in-person and virtual events, such as conferences, seminars, round-table discussions and workshops. These events play a key role in fostering the exchange of knowledge, inter-institutional dialogue and the active participation of students, lecturers and researchers. Furthermore, this unit aims to create inclusive spaces that reflect the diversity of the sector.
Institutional Relations Area
Its aim is to consolidate and expand our network of strategic partners at national and international level. This department facilitates dialogue with universities, government bodies, NGOs, multilateral organisations and the private sector, promoting cooperation agreements, participation in multilateral forums and synergies that strengthen the forestry sector’s capabilities.
Technical Area
Comprising professionals and academics from the forestry sector, this department leads the design and implementation of training programmes, collaborative research, assessments and proposals for improving the curriculum. It also works on developing innovative tools and methodologies that contribute to training that is more relevant, up-to-date and geared towards the socio-environmental challenges of the 21st century.
Funding Management Area
Responsible for identifying and managing national and international funding opportunities, both public and private. This department works on project development, submitting applications, technical and financial monitoring, and reporting. Its work is essential to ensuring the viability and sustainability of our activities in the medium and long term.
